is pleased to offer Etiquette Classes for children and youth in central Texas.
 

Class Schedule

 
Classes will be held at The Caswell House June 12 - July 24, 2012.
(No class on July 3rd in honor of Independence Day)
 
Children ages 6-9
Tuesdays 6-6:50pm		 Youth ages 10-13
Tuesdays 7-7:50pm

Instruction in etiquette will be led by Ms. Betsy Bird, Protocol School of Texas.
Instruction in dealing with bullies will be led by Dr. Daphny Ainslie, Psychologist.

 

Lesson One -- Meeting, Greeting, & Proper Introductions

  • Introducing yourself
  • Introducing friends to other friends, friends to parents, & parents to other adults
  • Conversational skills

Lesson Two -- Communication & Public Speaking

  • Telephones & texting
  • Body language
  • Speaking clearly & comfortably in front of others 

Lesson Three -- Dealing with Bullies*

  • Strategies for avoiding & managing conflict
  • Maneuvering through difficult situations appropriately

Lesson Four -- Table Manners: Setting a Proper Table

  • How to set a proper table
  • Napkin rules & other table tips
  • Making dinner conversation

Lesson Five -- Table Manners: Eating a Meal

  • Proper ways to hold & use utensils
  • The delicacy of eating your favorite foods & finger foods
  • Coursed meals

Lesson Six -- Personal Polish Presentation

  • Students will display their newly acquired skills as they host a light meal at
    The Caswell House for family & friends.

 

All lessons will be held at The Caswell House, 1404 West Avenue at 15th Street.

Enrollment is limited to 25 students per class and is open to both girls and boys.

Attendance at four of the five inital lessons is necessary for your child to recieve
 a certificate of completion at the Personal Polish Presentation.

Each child may bring two guests, at least one of whom must be an adult, to the Personal Polish Presentation.

As this class will address table manners, food may be provided for some lessons.
If your child has any allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know at the time of enrollment.
